How we price our new RVs:

Here at Big Sky RV we are proud to offer factory wholesale-based pricing for all of our new Jayco, Starcraft and Mesa Ridge RVs. Customers can now rely on transparent, fair, and ethical competitive RV prices.

In addition to offering RVs for $700 over Jayco corporation’s factory wholesale pricing we will also offer additional buyer’s incentives.  We believe this fair and transparent pricing will relieve customers of the anxiety associated with RV pricing games and allow customers to focus on what is really important, finding the perfect RV for their needs.  While it is true that it is possible to find lower prices than ours around the USA we believe having a fair and equitable price on all of our products all the time will simplify the RV shopping experience for buyers while enhancing the overall value Big Sky RV offers both before and after the sale. We offer a very straight-forward business transaction with a handshake and a smile.

Big Sky RV employs nearly 50 folks, therefore does need to make a fair profit to remain in business and provide the great level of service that our long-time customers have enjoyed over the past 30 years.  We believe in, and strive to achieve, a win-win philosophy where an equal value is exchanged for your hard-earned money each and every time we do business with one another.  Big Sky RV fully understands that the internet age is upon us and we are aware that even as we are priced very fair and competitive that customers will encounter similar RVs at lower quoted prices around the country. While so many factors contribute to this, Big Sky RV kindly asks for an opportunity to try to match or exceed any price you may have encountered elsewhere.

It is like my father and our founder says, “we can always get another RV but we cannot always get another customer”.

Trade In Information

Thank you for considering Big Sky RV and potentially trading in your current camper. We believe Big Sky RV pays as much, or more, for good used RVs on trade as any dealer in the USA. However Big Sky RV no longer engages in trade-in over-allowance.

In most cases Big Sky RV will pay in cash the same price as was allowed for most trade-ins as part of a sale*. No over-allowance, no Smoke and Mirrors. Big Sky RV recommends that potential RV buyers ask other dealers who may be showing them more for the potential trade-in to write a check to them for the allowed amount. Many dealers simply will not because they are using what is commonly referred to as a trade-in over allowance. Trade-in over-allowance is a common practice. This is where the price of the unit is elevated higher, and the customer is being shown more on paper than the dealer is actually giving them. The elevated price is not what a different client paid for the same camper in a no-trade scenario. What did you truly pay for your camper? This can get confusing and unfortunately is often used to deceive buyers into thinking they are receiving above market value for their trade-in.

We believe where the rubber meets the road on RV trade-in purchases is the out the door difference. When it comes to apples-to-apples RV trade-in deals, we believe we can offer a highly competitive trade difference while providing a great value overall.

Factors that may affect your Trade-In value.
  1. NADA Book Value
  2. Wholesale Market Value
  3. Lending sources used collateralization policies
  4. Floor-plan and Condition
*Big Sky RV retains the discretion to choose not to purchase any trade-in for any reason.

FAQS

Warranty Information

Most manufacture warranties are limited in coverage.  Big Sky RV highly recommends a prospective buyer fully read the manufactures warranty documents for the RV they may be considering.  RV dealers are not party to the manufacture warranty, they are however requested to facilitate the warranty repairs in accordance with the manufactures warranty policies as part of their respective dealer agreements.

Jayco currently has one of the most comprehensive Warranties in the business, full 2 year.  Among the conventional main stream RV manufactures Jayco has always had a step above warranty.  Most manufactures including other brands Big Sky RV sells have a 1-year warranty with a 3-year structural warranty. This is often marketed as a 3-year warranty therefore we always recommend asking to read a complete copy of the warranty documents to truly understand what is covered.

Starcraft offers an industry standard 1-year limited warranty  with a 3 year structural warranty.
Measa Ridge also offers a industry standard 1-year limited warranty with a 3 year limited structural warranty.

Mesa Ridge also offers an industry standard 1-year limited warranty with a 3-year limited structural warranty.

Most RV manufactures warranties do have limitations regarting full-time use. Big Sky RV highly recommends all potential RV buyers read the manufactures warranty in its entirety.

Most RV manufactures warranties will not warranty RVs used for commercial purposes. Big Sky RV highly recommends a potential RV buyer to fully read the RV's warranty. However, extended service contracts have been used to help protect RVs used for these purposes.

Yes, Big Sky RV will do some goodwill, non-warranty adjustments during the original warranty period as a service to our customers.

RV dealers all around the country have experienced a shortage of Qualified RV technicians therefore have very limited resources during the peak camping season. Unfortunately, many RV dealers simply do not have the resources to prioritize customers in need “out of service” warranty repair for customers who purchased the RV from an out of town competitors.  Big Sky RV offers our warranty repair resources on a first come first serve basis, and when it comes to out of service problems (problems preventing the use of the RV), Big Sky RV feels it has a moral obligation to prioritize warranty service for customers who choose to purchase the RV at Big Sky RV.  We do however promise facilitate warranty every product that we are an authorized warranty service provider for on a first come first serve basis.

Protecting your RV

Yes, Big Sky RV offers Jay Plus extended service protection plans, Guaranteed Asset Protection, Road Side assistance programs, and some others as-well.

Factory warranties cover the RV best when you are likely to need them least. RVs are produced using lots of specialized components, components that must with-stand the rigors of earthquake like road vibration, and repeated varied use over a very long trade cycle.  There-fore for many it makes sense to cover their investment more completely.

Factory Branded service contracts have a vested interest in protecting the brand name. Independent providers are generally more vested in profitability for their share-holders.  The Jay Plus extra ride program by protective is the only RV extended service contract that has been endorsed by RVIA. This has been the case since 1992.

GAP is an optional coverage that will pay the difference between the insurance settlement check and what you may still owe on the RV loan in the case of a total loss due to hail, fire, theft, or accident.

New cars, Boats, and RVs can depreciate faster than most folks can pay down their RV loans, and many folks finance accessories .  Many standard insurance policies only pay the fair market value or actual cash value of the vehicle at the time of the loss. Leaving a possible substantial GAP in the loss covered. Some insurance also will not address the value of accessories.  GAP coverage comes to the rescue.

Most insurance is not designed to address a loan payoff.  Ask your insurance provider if they will pay off your loan, whatever the balance.

Yes!

Big Sky RV belongs to a dealer association called Route 66. When a customer purchases a RV from Big Sky RV, they are enrolled into the Route 66 promises plan. Other plans such as road side assist and consumer direct technical assistance are available and quite affordable.

Recreational Vehicles or “RVs” are generally designed for Recreational use. Even though there has recently been TV Programs and Bloggers who document their full-time RV lifestyle, full-time RV living is not without its difficulties and typically requires extensive RV experience and knowledge. Further, Big Sky RV generally believes most RVs are not manufactured in a manner that lends its self to full time year-round living.

Financing your RV Purchase

Yes, and our lending partners using improve some aspect of financing the RV compared to what may be available from other sources. Lower rates, less money down, more favorable terms, lower payments and sometimes all of the above.

RV's can typically be financed for longer periods of time than autos, however the term is determined by factors such as amount to be financed, age of the RV and the lending institutions internal guidelines.

The IRS has ruled the interest paid on an RV may be educatable as home mortgage interest if the RV is used as security for the loan and has cooking, sleeping, and toilet facilities.

Big Sky RV does not offer variable or balloon loans.  Theses types of loans can have unpleasant consequences to our customers in our experience.

Yes, we are experts at navigating financing for self-employed RV buyers.

Big Sky RV does receive a bit of income when we arrange your financing for you and we will pass in part that on to you as an up-front savings.

Yes, we are experienced in navigating financing for out of State buyers. We also arrange to pay your local sales tax.

Towable RVs are permanently registered in Montana. One-time fee and then you are done for as long as you own your towable RV.   Motorized RVs are a bit more expensive to register and require annual renewal however the fees comparable to a normal pick-up then drop to a more nominal annual fee.

RV depreciation is quite subjective to several factors such as, original dealer margin/mark-up, original price point, floor-plan desirability, unit options, color, and the units care and condition. RVs that are not well cared for or lived in hard can see substantially more depreciation.  RVs with unusual or undesirable floor-plans can also depreciate a bit faster.  However according to NADA some Jayco RVs maintain up to %3 better resale value than contemporary products.

In most cases, NO. Retail recreational installment contracts do not conform with RVs to be used as a primary residence. However, some local banks and some national lenders may not have objections to financing RVs for full-time use.

Montana typically requires a physical address in order to register a RV in State.
